Thinking about getting a pet?

We know that pets can provide invaluable companionship to their owners, enriching their lives in numerous ways. Before bringing a pet into your home, you’ll need to get permission from us, so please read on to find out more.

Pet procedure

All residents are encouraged to review our Pet Procedure for detailed information on pet ownership in ccha homes. This includes guidelines on suitable pet types, breeds, and sizes, as well as any restrictions that may apply. Understanding these guidelines can help you make informed decisions about pet ownership.

Permission and considerations

Before bringing a pet into your home, you must receive permission from us. We will assess the potential impact of the pet on your home and neighbours, considering factors such as noise, space, and general welfare for the community. We'll also consider the pet’s wellbeing and needs, ensuring that we promote responsible pet ownership.

Residents living in flats

If you live in a flat, please be aware that pet ownership may be prohibited or restricted. It is crucial to check your specific lease or tenancy agreement for any relevant clauses regarding pets.
